Kickoff workshop in Moers and the Annual Conference of the Neighborhood Academy (Quartiersakademie NRW): Our research project is ready to take off.
With more than 40 representatives of our 15 Social Living Labs we indentified local issues and defined the benchmarks for 2017. Once again, while presenting the project and the Living Labs to a wide audience at the conference in Bochum, we realized the political dimensions of our undertaking. Looking forward to a intense cooperation with lots of civic tech ideas and unconventional output.
The project “Connecting Neighborhoods” (Bürger vernetzen Nachbarschaften 2016-2018), a cooperation with the Ministry of Urban Planning and Development NRW, aims at fostering civic engagement through digital means as well as novel forms of social and digital networking. Through 15 Social Living Labs we research on the specific digital needs and practices in urban and rural areas, implement tools for participation and generate recommendation for action for the policy.
