In the exhibition at the Einstein Center Digital Future, Berlin University of the Arts design students explore, critique, and reflect on the topic of freedom in today’s society. The exhibition consists of student-generated A.I. imagery, a selection of student-designed “critical machines” prototypes, as well as artworks.
The A.I. images are based on prompts inspired by the themes and topics discussed in lectures and reflect on how technology can shape our worldview through visual patterns, stereotypes and biases generated by the algorithms. Students also designed “critical machines” as conceptual rapid prototypes out of inexpensive materials with speculative, imaginary, and satirical functions that critique and comment on the state of freedom in contemporary society. Furthermore, several artworks were also created that continue to explore the theme of freedom from unique and thought-provoking perspectives. We look forward to seeing you at the ECDF!
